Despite opening its doors back in September, theROARstore got word in early October, that the remains part of our store's hardware would be installed. The original plans called for a wall application/fixture, called a slatwall, to be installed on both the south and west walls. So the students shut down the store, put paper over the windows and planned to reopen to fanfare.
Wish the help of the Linn-Mar Foundation, the Marion Chamber of Commerce and its Ambassadors held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, tore down the paper, and unveiled an all new look. Students have also ordered new merchandise (some of which was on sale) and anyone interested could enter a drawing for a chance to win free merchandise. Vintage notebooks were even given away--these were found, in large amounts, with a copyright date of 1981...when a school supply store was run by the business department. **below you can find a link to the transcript of the remarks made by students during the ceremony, or watch the video (which was streamed live on our Facebook page)
